Hello Jon,
I'm Rod Holman, from the Hill End Gathering Group and volunteer at Old Government House. You send me the bio you'd done on the first housekeeper, Mary Bishop, a few years ago. The Parramatta staff and Head Office at the National Trust are keen to develop stories about the ordinary people that worked the site and House, for future reference and aid in presentation to promote grants.
Are you able to release it to me so I can pass it on to the Parramatta Manager and share the fabulous story ? It wont be for publication but excerpts may appear in the National Trust magazine as a part of an article on the early residents of the House.
With thanks,
Rod

Greetings Rod,
longer than you think, we last conversed just on 10 years ago . Obviously, we've both been having fun .
In the meantime, in 2020 Gail and I enjoyed a personal tour of the "Women of Distinction" project with Anna Ridley and this very topic came up. It was determined that neither "Mary Bishop X her mark" bio or "The Mysterious Mrs Bishop" presentation were the best sources, and that a more OGH focussed narrative would be more appropriate. Although I had already commenced that work, Covid, and life, got in the way.
Your message inspired me to complete the work, ( which is now attached for your consideration, and remission to the appropriate persons. All that I ask is the opportunity to proof read and comment on any synopsis or adaptation that may be considered for publication, prior to publication. I also request that the source material and background link to bishopsinoz.weebly.com be published with it. This will achieve our ultimate aim, which is not kudos, rather at least a partial correction of the widespread misinformation about the Bishop Family found universally amongst the various internet based genealogy platforms. On that proviso, consider it released.
I wasn't aware of your connection with Hill End. Perhaps you attended Hill End 150 celebration ? If so, we missed each other. We had a buzz, in spite of the weather.
Happy volunteering,
Cheers Jon

Hell Jon,
Thank you for getting back to me and for the pdf copy.
Wow , its been 10 years. I've just got my 10 year service certificate so I must've been there that long
when we meet at the House.
At this time Mary's story will be securely filed for future reference and we'll be in contact with you when it's info is used in the future.
The planned article done by the National Trust head office about residents of Old Government House has been
written using other stories and material .
I didn't attend the Hill End 150 event. My Great Grandfather was a miner there and later involved with the Cobb & Co business.
Happy Australia Day,
Regards and thank you again,
Rod Holman.
